CYNTHIA SUE (JANKOWSKI) FOSSE Obituary
Cynthia Sue (Jankowski) Fosse of Naperville Cynthia Sue (Jankowski) Fosse passed away unexpectedly at her home on June 16, 2013, She was 56 years old. Cindy was born to Walter and Lydia Jankowski on May 18, 1957, in LaGrange, IL. She graduated from Downers Grove South High School in 1975. She earned a BA in Education from Western Illinois University and a Masters in Education from National Louis University. She was an elementary school teacher for over 30 years including 26 years at Scott Elementary School in Naperville until her retirement in 2012. On August 16, 1995, Cindy married Kim A. Fosse in Las Vegas, NV. Cindy was preceded in death by her parents Walter and Lydia Jankowski, and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, George and Marilyn Fosse. She is survived by her husband Kim, sisters Debbie (John) Bold of Wheaton, IL and Patti Jans of Apache Junction, AZ, brother-in-law Kevin (Katie) Fosse of Boulder, CO, sister-in-law Lisa Fosse of St. Charles, IL, nephews Andy (Marie) Bold and Matt Bold of Chicago, and nieces Kendall and Kourtney Fosse of Boulder, CO. She is also survived by her long time friend and fellow teacher Sandi Hannes of Oswego, IL. Cindy was a many-faceted person who put endless energy and love into every aspect of her life. First and foremost was her family. She dearly loved her husband and both of their extended families. Time spent with them on birthdays and holidays meant the world to her as did the strong traditions and heritages of both families. Also special to Cindy were the pets in her life: dogs Toby, Buttercup and Jelly Bean, and cats Twinkie, Figaro, Geppetto and Johnny Cat. Cindy filled a room with her personality and love for life. Her enthusiasm was contagious and her passion for living was felt by everyone around her. Just being with her made you feel good. Cindy was a natural teacher and she cared deeply about each of her students. Her passion spilled on to her students and fellow teachers. Many of her former students kept in touch with her, often filling her classroom on Open House nights. Cindy was kind and compassionate to all animals. She loved to have lizards, fish and turtles in her classroom and she used the little creatures to teach her students about the natural world and the wonder of life. Cindy loved reading and traveling with her husband Kim, often on history-related trips and always with a pug in tow. She was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and she also enjoyed opera, old movies and Saturday farmers markets. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 A.M.
