Obituary Condolences

Donald Travis Wyrick, born Nov. 24, 1942 passed away peacefully in his home after a valiant battle with cancer on July 24, 2014. He will be remembered by his longtime love, Donna Lentz of Bristol, WI, his 3 children Christine Wyrick Rogljacin (Dragan), Leann Wyrick Morgan (Ben), and David Wyrick (Jackie), 6 grandchildren, Johnny, Lexi, Jackson, Luke, Courtney, and Cash, his sister Barbara Wyrick Storm (Leon), nephew Michael Storm (Kate), and countless friends in Illinois and Wisconsin. He is preceded in death by older brother, Larry Darnell Wyrick who passed away when Don was a child. He will be remembered for his quick wit, sense of humor, love of poetry and Beethoven, infectious spirit, and generous heart. A private family service will be held on Friday, August 8, 2014 at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL followed by a reception at the VFW Post 3579, 10 W. Higgins Rd., Park Ridge, IL 60068 from 6-10pm that evening. A military recognition of Don's service in the United States Air Force (1963-1967) will take place at 7:30pm. We encourage all family and friends to come and join us for a night of celebration and the sharing of stories of a life well-lived. If you cannot be with us, please remember Don's famous words, "Be good ... and if you can't be good, take notes." In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in his name to the VFW Post 3579, 10 W. Higgins Rd., Park Ridge, IL 60068.
