Edward George Hopper, CLU of Arlington Heights Edward George Hopper, CLU was born on Sept. 2, 1934, in Chicago, Ill., to Vreeland and Edna (nee Staffel) Hopper. He died Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013, while vacationing in the Caribbean. Mr. Hopper worked as a salesman for State Mutual, Allmerica Financial and Met Life during his 54-year career. He was a volunteer for the Frontier Days festival, a member of the Des Plaines Elks Club, member of MDRT. Edward served in the National Guard. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Judith Hopper (nee Lonze); his children, Edward L., Mark E. and Steven E. Hopper and Mary L. (James) Bloniarz; his grandchildren, Ericka, David (Brooke) and Randy Hopper, Stephanie and Michelle Williams and Nicholas Bloniarz; and his many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Doris. Visitation will be from 3 until 9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 8, at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road (four blocks south of Palatine Road), Arlington Heights, IL. Prayers will be at 9:15 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, at the funeral home, proceeding to St. James Catholic Church, 831 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, for Mass at 10 a.m. Interment will be private. Memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905 or to the Elks National Foundation, 2750 N.
