GERARD MICHAEL "BRILL" BRILLOWSKI Obituary
Gerard Michael "Brill" Brillowski of Geneva Gerard Michael "Brill" Brillowski passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 6, 2013, at Delnor-Community Hospital in Geneva. He was born Sept. 2, 1961, in Chicago, the son of Gerald and Germaine Brillowski. Gerard was an accomplished musician who was known throughout the Midwest area for his wildly eclectic style and talented performances with his premier tropical pop and steel drum band, OD TAPO IMI. Gerard shared his passion for steel drums on international tours as well as local school assemblies. His memory will be treasured by all of those touched by his music. Raised in Baraboo, Wisconsin, Brill attended Baraboo High School and the University of Wisconsin in Madison. He is survived by his girlfriend, Kimberly Loree Smeets of Batavia; his mother, Germaine Fiegel of Stevens Point, WI; and his brother, Gerald Brillowski Jr. of Dallas, TX. He was preceded in death by his father, Gerald. A celebration of life service will be held Thursday, March 28, at 4:00 p.m.at Unity of Fox Valley, 230 Webster St., Batavia IL.
