John A. Perry Sr. a resident of Itasca for 55 years Funeral services for John A. Perry Sr., 85, will be held Monday, Feb. 11, beginning with prayers at 10:15 a.m. at Morizzo Funeral Home, 2550 Hassell Road (at Barrington Road), Hoffman Estates, proceeding to an 11 a.m. funeral Mass at St. Matthew Catholic Church, Schaumburg. Interment will be in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside. Visitation will be held Sunday, Feb. 10, from 2 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Born Nov. 7, 1927, in Elmwood Park, to the late Carl and the late Mary (nee Finch), he passed away peacefully Feb. 5, 2013, surrounded by his loving family. John was proud to have served in the Navy on the USS Sierra during World War II. He was the adoring husband of 56 years to the late Shirley; loving father of John Jr. (Shelia), James (Andrea), Robert (Sandra), Sandra (Bradley) Semcek and William (Linda); fond grandfather of Cheryl, Shannon, Shelly, Cody, Mark, Bobby, Alyssa, Bill and Nick; proud great-grandfather of Gianna; and beloved brother of Louise (the late Frank) Rodgers, the late Donald Perry, the late Joan (the late Ed) Strand , Patricia (William) Luby and Mary (Thomas) Giaimo.
