John C. Blackmore Jr. John C. Blackmore Jr. (Jack), 94, passed away May 30, 2013. He was born August 17, 1918 in Boston, MA to John C. Blackmore Sr. and Hedwidg Anderson Blackmore. He moved to Western Springs, IL when he was 11 years old, graduated from Lyons Township High School (where he met his wife Jane), Lyons Township Jr. College and North Central College. He enlisted in the Navy in 1942 and married Jane Hedin Blackmore in 1943. He was a lieutenant and served in the Gulf area on the USS Almaack as a Gunnery Officer. He was on active duty until 1946 and a reserve until 1955. He worked at John Hancock Life Insurance before joining Chicago Title & Trust in 1956. In 1967 he became a Vice President at Chicago Title & Trust and was the head of the Real Estate and Mortgage Departments. He was a member of the American Society of Real Estate Counselors, American Institute of Real Estate Appraisers and the Chicago & DuPage Board of Realtors. He is survived by his wife Jane, son John Blackmore, daughters Susan (John) Teal, Sarah (Rich) Murphy, grandchildren, Jackie Blackmore, Andrea Blackmore (Randy) Dye, Joshua (Laura) Murphy, Jason (Stacey) Murphy, Elizabeth Murphy, six great grandchildren, Nicole, Tom, Derek, Jake and Kylie Murphy and Abby Dye. He is also survived by his sister Doris (George) Stone, brothers Robert (Dolly) Blackmore, and Dick (Sue) Blackmore. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Ruth (Blackmore) Draper. Jack and Jane raised their family in LaGrange, IL and then moved to Hinsdale and then to Wyndemere in Wheaton, IL. Burial will be private at Bronswood Cemetery in Oak Brook, IL.
