Obituary Condolences

Margaret Elizabeth Muntz of Elgin Margaret Elizabeth Muntz passed away on Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012. Margaret was born on May 11, 1916, in Elgin, IL, to Wesley R. and Elfie (nee Johnson) McBride. She is survived by her daughter, Penny (Chuck) Cassell; five granddaughters, Courtney Huynh, Elizabeth (Louis) Foreman, Emily (Casey) Wagner, Martha (Tim) Mankin and Megan (Tom) Weber; and her great-grandchildren, Julian and Nicholas Huynh, Hailey and Aaron Foreman, Nathan, Carson, Jackson and Olivia Wagner, Maddox and Alexander Mankin, and Mandy and David Weber. She is also survived by her sister, Bonnie Fay; and a special friend, Wayne Niemeier. She will be greatly missed by her entire family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon in 1965; daughter, Jane Liggett (Lloyd) in 1998; and her brother, W. James McBride. Margaret "Muggs" graduated from Elgin High School and attended the University of Illinois, majoring in music - piano (she continued to play the piano beautifully until the time of her passing). She was a member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority and several local organizations. Honoring Margaret's wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be no formal service or visitation. Margaret's family will celebrate her life privately at a later date. A special thank you to the staff at Hospice & Palliative Care of Northeastern Illinois, Rosewood Care Center and Dr. Richard Baley, for their support during her illness. Memorial gifts may be made to the First Congregational Church of Elgin, 256 E. Chicago St., Elgin, IL 60120, where Margaret was a lifelong member.
