Obituary Condolences

BARTLETT - Mark Alan Prochaska was born June 20, 1958 in Chicago to Rudolph and Agatha (nee Dorth) Prochaska. He died suddenly February 22, 2014 at St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates. Mark spent his childhood in Chicago and Hoffman Estates. He graduated from Hoffman Estates High School in 1976 - the first graduating class of the school. He received his degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois - Circle Campus. Some of his fondest memories and the basis of many of his enthusiastic stories came from the three years he spent in the Army as a Demolition Specialist. Mark was the beloved husband to Shawna (nee Prantl); loving son of Agatha and the late Rudolph; cherished step father to Michele Hancko; and dear brother to Lisa (Mike) Dutton and Laura (Ron) Capes. He will also be missed by his dear extended family members, friends and his furry feline children. Although Mark's life was far too short here, his memory will live on with those who loved him dearly. Those who knew Mark are aware of his lack of fondness for formality. Therefore, if you are attending the visitation, casual attire is preferred - even nice jeans are acceptable. Visitation Friday, February 28, 2014 from 3 PM until the time of service at 7 PM at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road (four blocks south of Palatine Road), Arlington Heights. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Little Angels Nursing Home, 1435 Summit, Elgin, IL 60120, c/o Shelley Lewis.
