MARY ELLEN KAAR Obituary
Mary Ellen Kaar Mary Ellen Kaar, 97, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013, at Advocate Condell Medical Center. She was born Sept. 15, 1915, in Quincy, IL, and had lived in Libertyville for many years. Mary Ellen was a past president of the Libertyville Woman's Club, member of First Presbyterian Church and volunteer at Condell Hospital. She was a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Illinois and a member of the Delta Gamma Sorority. She was also an active member and employee of the Girl Scouts of America. Surviving are five children, Joseph (Kelly) Kaar of Magnolia, AR, John (Alison) Kaar of Chatham, MO, Joan Kaar of Lindenhurst, James (Denise) Kaar of Grayslake and Jill (Jerry) Hanson of Lindenhurst; six grandchildren, Kim, David, Dan (Staci), Taylor, Andrew and Lillian; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph W. Kaar in 2005. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 8, at the Burnett-Dane Funeral Home Ltd., 120 W. Park Ave. (Route 176, one block west of Milwaukee Ave.), Libertyville. Memorials to the Northeast IL Council, Boy Scouts of America, 2745 Skokie Valley Road, Highland Park, IL 60035, appreciated.
