PAUL DONNELL ANDERSON Obituary
Paul Donnell Anderson passed away Jan. 17, 2014. Known as "Donn", Paul was born Aug. 9, 1939, in East Moline. Ill., to Paul E. Anderson and Mary Agnes (Donnell) Anderson. He entered the monastery at St. Procopius College in 1959 and graduated St. Procopius in 1961. He left monastery in 1963. Donn taught high school English and Biology, was a brakeman on the Burlington Northern and drove a school bus. He developed and taught courses in teacher education at Bell System Center for Technical Education from 1974-1992. He also volunteered at the People's Resource Center in Wheaton, was a paper route chauffeur, baseball scorekeeper, builder of backyard forts and driver/mover to and from college for his kids. Donn was team cameraman for his alma mater football games and rebuilt a Honda Civic Station Wagon from the ground up. Don was the flipper of huge pancakes, made his own syrup, liked to toast steak bread and grew amazing tomatoes. Survived by Kayrene, wife of 49 years; children, Sheila (Maria) Anderson, Mike Anderson, Amy (Dave) Roller, Joe Anderson and Katie (Dan) Schnolis; grandchildren, Emma, Charlie, Lucy, Connor and Grace; brothers, Kyle (Collette), Dave (Bernadine), Phillip (James), Tim (Pam) and Tom (Jeannie Leahy), and sister, Elizabeth; brothers-in-law, Eddie (Sara) Corkery and John Corkery, and sister-in-law, Margaret "B" Corkery; nieces, nephews and friends. Preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Mary Agnes; parents-in-law, Jack and Ella Corkery; and beloved canine buddy, Simon. Funeral Mass will be 11:15 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21, at St. Joan of Arc, 820 Division St., Lisle, with visitation beginning at 10:15 a.m.
