PAUL WILLIAM RICHARD JENSEN Obituary
Paul William Richard Jensen, 87, of Oakland, California, passed away on Thursday, June 19, 2014. He was born December 21, 1925 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to parents Theodore Armin Jensen and Margarethe Wolter Jensen. Paul is survived by his wife Cleis, by his brother James (Jim), his daughters Catherine, Rebecca (Becky), son Thomas (Tom), by his grandchildren Joshua Roth and Hannah Roth and Colin Jensen. He served in WWII as an Ensign in the Navy, and after the war attended Northwestern University and received his Master's degree from the Medill School of journalism. Paul was an industrial film writer in Chicago for Dallas Jones and Company, and later was Creative Director for Universal Training Systems in Northbrook, Illinois. Paul was a member of the Palatine, Illinois Park Board for 20 years, and helped to create a system of asphalt bike trails and an 18 hole park district golf course, both in the 1960s. He retired to Seneca, South Carolina in 1989. While "retired", Paul created a program to increase attendance at nearby Clemson, University's sporting events for newcomers to the Clemson area, and was a representative for the University's booster organization IPTAY.
