1920 - 2014 Obituary Condolences
RINGWOOD - Ralph Monroe Kick, 93, passed away peacefully March 7, 2014 at Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital. He was born May 5, 1920 in Libertyville to Horace J. Kick and Marie V. Larson. In October of 1943 he enlisted into the United States Navy "Seabees" and served our country for 3 years and 4 months in the 42nd Naval Construction Battalion. In 1951 he started work at the Frank Hough Company in Libertyville in which International Harvester bought the Hough Factory and Dresser bought the Harvester Plant where he retired after 36 years in 1986. He then married the love of his life Beulah Steffen in 1958. He was a member at the VFW Post 4600 in McHenry, American Legion Post 183 in Genoa City and the McHenry Moose Lodge. He is survived by his beloved siblings; David (Linda), Thomas (Pat), Gracie (Robert) Zimmerman, fond brother in law; Wayne (Carol) Steffen, loving niece, best friend and care giver Cathy Daniel, many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by Beulah in 1997. "Ralph, you fought a good fight and the battle is over, and you will be deeply missed." Visitation will be Saturday March 15, 2014 from 9:00 - 11:00 am with an 11:00 Service at the VFW 3002 Route 120 McHenry. Interment will be at 2:00 pm at McHenry County Memorial Park in Woodstock with Military Honors. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Northern Illinois Funeral Services, Inc., 847-833-2928.
