Obituary Condolences

CARPENTERSVILLE - Ronald L. Schildknecht, age 62, of Carpentersville passed away Tuesday, March 4, 2014, at Sherman Hospital in Elgin. Ron was born in Estherville, Iowa on Oct. 31, 1951, the son of Walter T. and Betty (nee Albright) Schildknecht. He was a resident of the area for the past 29 years. Ron was a 1979 graduate of the University of Wisconsin, Madison having earned a Bachelors degree in History and International Relations. He also earned an Associates degree in Accounting from the Madison area Technical College. Ron was a former 30 year agent with the Internal Revenue Service. He was a very proud, United States Navy Veteran and had served aboard the USS Constellation. Ron was an avid member of Lifetime Fitness in Algonquin. Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Marjorie, whom he married Oct. 11, 1980; and his daughters, Allison (Ryan) Cavis and Rebecca Schildknecht. Ron is also survived by his parents, Walter and Betty; his brothers, Walter T. III (Robin) and Richard (Barbara) Schildknecht; his sister, DeeAnn (Richard) Layton; his mother in-law, Margaret DeVault; his father-in-law, James Amundson; a large extended family, including nieces, nephews and countless good and faithful friends. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, in the Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Fisher House for Veterans, The Nature Conservancy or any veteran or environmental organization of your choice.
