Russell J. Gangi A funeral Mass for Russell J. Gangi, 82, will be held at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, June 23, at Holy Family Church, 2515 W. Palatine Road, Inverness. Burial will be in All Saints Cemetery. Born Sept. 19, 1929, he passed away Tuesday, June 19, 2012, at Northwest Community Hospital after a long illness. Russell obtained his B.S. degree from the University of Illinois and his master's degree from DePaul University. He worked as a production service organization manager for AT&T for over 33 years and was a Eucharistic minister, minister of care and member of the Knights of Columbus Holy Family Chapter. He had a very strong faith. Russell enjoyed watching sports, and he was a long-suffering Cubs fan. He was the husband of the late Ruth (nee Strodtman); father of Russ Jr. (Starr) Gangi and Gale Gangi; and nephew of Dina Gangi. Russell was preceded in death by his parents, Salvatore and Mary; sister, Catherine Marchese; and uncle Mariano DiGangi. Russell will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Chicago Lighthouse for People Who Are Blind or Visually Impaired, 1850 W. Roosevelt Road, Chicago, IL 60608-1298 or , 1707 N.
