SUSAN STUCKEY Obituary
NAPERVILLE - Susan S. Stuckey (nee Schroeder), 50, of Naperville since 2005, formerly of West Chicago, passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2014, surrounded by her loving family at Pepper Family Hospice Center in Barrington, IL following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born October 2, 1963 in Normal, IL. Beloved wife of Jeffrey G. Stuckey, whom she married July 14, 1989, devoted daughter of Harold and Beverly Schroeder of Mahomet, IL, dear sister of Richard (Janet) Schroeder of LeRoy, IL, Jim (Sally Sloan) Schroeder of Decatur, IL and Doug (Stacy) Schroeder of Mahomet, IL, loving daughter-in-law of the late George and Eleanor Stuckey, adored sister-in-law of Nanette (Doug) Awe of Plainfield, IL, Linda Jo Stuckey of Bloomington, MN and Jennifer (Milo) Johnson of Lakeville, MN. Susan will be deeply missed by her treasured nieces and nephews: Courtney and Logan; Nick and Tobie; Lauren, Bob and Samantha, Stephanie (Craig), Leslie (Mose) and Jordan; Mattie, Leah and Pete. She will also be missed by her faithful dog, Scout. Susan grew up in Bellflower, IL, was a member of the class of 1981 at Bellflower Township High School and graduated from the University of Illinois at Champaign with a degree in education. She later received her Master's in Education from Illinois State University, Normal and taught for two years before becoming principal at Spring Hills Elementary School in Roselle, IL. Susan went on to serve as principal at Ranchview Elementary School in Naperville and was currently serving in her thirteenth year as principal at Highland Elementary School in Naperville. Susan was an active member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Naperville and enjoyed gardening and exercising, especially participating in 5K's and triathlons. The sadness her family and friends feel is overwhelming but God has called Susan home. Susan's faith, hope, courage and positive nature were an inspiration to us all as she followed God's plan. No words are sufficient to sum up her many contributions to the school community as a whole as well as the countless individuals whose lives she touched.
