Obituary Condolences

Warren A. Smith of Libertyville Warren A. Smith died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013, in Lincolnshire. Mr. Smith was born March 18, 1921, in Libertyville, to his parents Ray N. and Lillian (nee Effinger) Smith, and was a lifelong resident of the community. He was a graduate of Libertyville Fremont High School and later served with the Army as a non-commissioned officer in the Pacific during World War II. For his military services, he was awarded the Victory Medal, the Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon with two bronze stars, the bronze service arrowhead, the Philippine Liberation Ribbon with one bronze star, six overseas service bars, one service stripe and the Good Conduct Medal. He was a current member of American Legion Post 329. Following World War II, Warren became the owner of the Titus Brothers Electric of Libertyville and was the director of Libertyville National Bank for 25 years. He was active in Boy Scouts, was an avid golfer and a proficient deep sea fisherman. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marquerite (nee Titus) of 63 years of marriage; his parents, Ray and Lillian; his sister, Blanche; and his brothers, Allen, Gerald (Marlene) and Ray "Bill" (Margaret) Smith. He is survived by his sisters-in-law, Marlene and Margaret Smith; and several nieces and nephews. Private funeral services were arranged by McMurrough Funeral Chapel, Libertyville. Entombment was in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elmwood. If desired, memorial donations made to the Libertyville American Legion Post 329, 715 N.
