WILLIAMSBURG - Alpheus Percell "Ike" Druitt entered into eternal rest on Sunday, October 27, 2013, in Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center. His life began on February 3, 1948, the son of Erma E. and Percell D. Druitt. He was a member of New Zion Baptist Church. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and was awarded a Bronze Star. He was employed by the Yorktown Naval Weapons Station for more than twenty years. "Ike" was loved by all and he will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his sister, Shelley E. Druitt. He leaves to cherish his precious memories, his mother and father, Erma and Percell Druitt; his son, Shon Dillard; his sister, Barbara Druitt, Cynthia Dianna Druitt, Lula Druitt-Johnson (Gustavaus) and Shelia Druitt-Ward (Wayne "Terry"); his brother, Anthony Druitt; his six nieces; his seven nephews; his nine great-nieces; his ten great-nephews; his three great-great nieces; his great-great-nephews; and a host of other loving relatives and many caring friends. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon on Thursday, Oct. 31, 2013, in New Zion Baptist Church, 3991 Longhill Road, with Dr. Robert A. Whitehead officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Family and friends will assemble at 6266 Richmond Road by 11:00 a.m. on Thursday. Mr. Druitt may be viewed in the funeral home on Wednesday (tonight) from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Professional Services entrusted to the staff of Whiting's Funeral Home, 7005 Pocahontas Trail Williamsburg, Virginia, 757-229-3011.
