NEWPORT NEWS - Bobby Ray Bain, 80, passed away at his home on Monday, June 24, 2013. Mr. Bain was born in Harnett County, North Carolina; the firstborn of 15 beautiful children to Randall Graham Bain and Lucy Norris Bain. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Ellen Ann Bordeaux Bain; his four sons, Marty Ray, Steve, Greg, and Bruce; his daughter, Linda; and several cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be deeply missed, but happily remembered, by his family and his many wonderful friends, especially those from American Legion Post 25, the Original Club, and the Progressive Club. He served his country in the US Army during the Korean War and retired from Newport News Shipbuilding after 37 years of dedicated service. His greatest accomplishment was providing for his family and showing us all his unconditional love. A Celebration of Life (a time for sharing thoughts and memories) will take place at Parkview Baptist Church Chapel at 604 Hilton Boulevard, Newport News, on Tuesday, July 2, 2013, at 7:00 p.m. The family will receive friends at the chapel between the hours of 5:30 and 7:00 p.m. prior to the service on that date. Condolences to the family may be made at www.cremate.org.
