TARBORO, NC - Everett B. "Jack" Davis, Jr., 94, passed away on Monday at The Fountains of the Albemarle. He was born on July 30, 1918 in Cleveland, NC to the late Everett B. and Annie Hord Davis. After growing up in Cleveland, NC, Jack resided in Yorktown, VA. for 29 years, where he married Mary Louise Lindsay in 1942. He was employed by the Newport News Shipyard and NASA Langley Research Center. After his retirement from NASA in 1973, he resided at Lake Gaston and in Roanoke Rapids for 35 years. A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 27, 2013 at 2:00 PM at New Testament Christian Church, 615 Jackson St. Roanoke Rapid, NC. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, John Lindsay Davis, a brother and four sisters. He is survived by a loving family including his Wife of 71 years; Mary Lindsay Davis, Daughter; Betti Ann Small and husband Harvey of Leesburg, Fla., Granddaughter; Rebekkah Jane Kline, and two great grandchildren.
