POQUOSON - Forrest Gene McGraw, 83, passed away on Thursday, March 27, 2014 surrounded by his family. Born in Glen Fork, West Virginia, he was a resident of Poquoson for 63 years. He served in the Korean War in the Army, and in 1986 retired after 32 years of federal service at Fort Eustis as Chief of Contracts Division-US Army Systems Command's Aviation Applied Technology Directorate. Gene was an avid gardener, loved playing golf, and fishing. Gene was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Rebecca McGraw; two brothers, Berkley McGraw and Bernard McGraw; and a sister, Shirley Hinton. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Frances Hunt McGraw; sons, Mike McGraw and wife Libby, and Bruce McGraw; daughter, Corry McGraw Spooner and husband Dan; grandchildren, Rachel, Christy,Stacey, Forrest Michael, Brendan and Lauren; and 6 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Sunday, 1:00PM-2:00PM at Claytor Rollins Funeral Home, Poquoson, followed by a Funeral Service at 2:00PM by Rev. Barry Throckmorton.
