GLOUCESTER - Gayanne Marjorie von Boeselager Lamos, 80, died July 15, 2013. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and wonderful friend. She was born November 27, 1932 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and grew up in Park Ridge, Illinois with her parents, August Clemens von Boeselager II and Beatrice Ann Tolle von Boeselager, and her younger brother, August Clemens von Boeselager, III. In 1954, she received a B.A. degree in sociology from Beloit College in Beloit, Wisconsin, where she met her husband. Gayanne moved to Williamsburg, Virginia with her family in 1966 and then to Gloucester, Virginia in 1980. She was an active member of King's Daughters of Children's Hospital and a volunteer at Walter Reed Memorial Hospital. Gayanne is survived by her husband of 59 years, Richard C. Lamos, who was employed by BASF Corporation in Williamsburg; her brother, of Des Moines, Iowa; her children, Richard C. Lamos, II, of Southgate, Michigan, Margaret B. Smith, of Greenville, South Carolina, Karol Anne Meyer, of El Dorado Hills, California, John C. Lamos, of Petaluma, California, Kristin Lamos, of Seville, Spain, Beth Marie Long, of Raleigh, North Carolina, fifteen grandchildren, and one great grand-child. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Katherine Gay Lamos. A graveside service will be held at Windsor Gardens Cemetery, Dutton, Virginia, on Friday, July 19, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. with Father James Cowles of St. Therese Catholic Church officiating. Arrangements are being made by Andrews Funeral Home of Gloucester. The family will receive friends at the home at 7608 Springfield Court in Gloucester immediately following the service.
