GRAFTON, VA - George J. Trombley, Jr, 79, passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2014. Mr. Trombley was a native of Watertown, NY and a peninsula resident since 1970. He retired from the US Air Force in 1973 after 20 years of service. After retirement he went to work for NASA and retired in 1995 after 22 years of service in the machine shop. He was an active member of the York Lion Club and volunteer for meals on wheels. He was a member of Grace Episcopal Church, Yorktown. He was preceded in death by his wife Peggyann Trombley, a daughter, Lisa Escott and a sister, Kathy Smith. He is survived by his daughter, Heather Drewry and her husband Eugene of Seaford; a son, Bryan Trombley of Denver, CO; a sister, Sally Lusby of Lakeland, FL; 4 grandchildren, Melissa Arneault and her husband Joshua, Thomas Drewry and Patrick and Allison Escott; and A great granddaughter Brooklyn Arneault and his aunt Betty Jeffers of Watertown, NY; nephews Aaron Lusby and Matt Smith both of FL. A memorial service will be held at 2:30 pm on Sunday, February 2, 2014 at Grace Episcopal Church with Rev. Carleton Bakkum and Rev. Connie Jones officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. A reception will follow in the church social hall.
