WILLIAMSBURG - Harry Cissel Jr., passed away on June 23, 2013, surrounded by loving family. Harry was born to Mildred and Harry Cissel Sr., on December 18, 1928 in Columbia, SC. Harry was raised in the Washington DC area, where he graduated from Montgomery Blair High School. Upon graduation, Harry enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1946. After his discharge, he married his beloved (late) Patricia Grace DeAgro. Harry and Pat settled in Silver Spring Md, where they resided for 56 years. Harry retired from Amato Industries as VP of Sales. Harry served as President of the IIDCA, and was recently honored for his service to the dry cleaning industry. Harry was loved by all, and was respected by his colleagues as well as the customers for whom he served. Harry was most proud of his property at Cedar Shores in Ocean View, Delaware, where he and Pat spent their leisurely time together. Harry was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years Pat Cissel, his brother Richard; sister, Beverly McKee and grandson Matthew Hoeltje. He leaves behind his sister Joyce Shegogue, along with daughter Deborah Barolet of Bethany Beach, De., daughter Laurie and husband Rich Padgett Williamsburg, Va., and son Richard and wife Brenda Cissel of Grand Ledge Michigan. He is also survived by grandchildren Michael Barolet, Paul Barolet, Christopher and his wife Erin Padgett, Lauren Padgett, Casey Padgett, Anthony Cissel, Brendan Cissel, and Christian Cissel, and Great Grandsons Brett and Taylor Hoeltje. Harry is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, as well as his faithful and loyal beagle, Leona. The family wishes to thank all of those at Morningside Assisted Living community in Williamsburg, Va, and we will ever be grateful for all those at Nurturing Hearts who loved and supported "Papa" during his stay there. There will be a visitation at Collins Funeral Home in Silver Spring Md. on Thursday June 27, from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. A mass will be said at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Silver Spring Md on Friday June 28th at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Silver Spring. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation (www.alz.org) or the Beagle Rescue League (www.brewbeagles.org).
