WILLIAMSBURG - Kelsey Adams, 83, of Williamsburg, passed away Friday, Jan. 20, 2006. He was preceded in death by his father, Milford Adams; mother, Margaret E. Hampton; and one brother, Norman Adams. He served in the Navy during World War II and the Korean War. He retired from NASA in 1987 in Beltsville, Md. Some of his favorite hobbies were painting, golf, reading, and recently writing. Mr. Adams is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Flora Bolling Adams; two daughters, Karen Adams Day and her husband, Bob, of Waynesboro, Pa., and Rebecca Adams Green and her husband, Dandridge, of Mt. Airy, Md.; two sons, Kirk Adams of Toano, Va., and Mark Adams and his wife, Hope, of Kilmarnock, Va.; seven grandchildren, Jennifer, Jonathan, Jeffrey, Jake, Mollie, Kelsey Evan and Hayden; two sisters, Vauda Adams Mullins and her husband, Chester, of Myrtle Point, Ore., and Joilea Adams Dickey and her husband, Leonard, of Myrtle Point, Ore.; and many cousins and friends. A service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 22, at Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Road, Williamsburg, VA 23188, with a reception to follow at the chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to your favorite charity or the Salvation Army at 151 Kristiansand Drive #109, Williamsburg, VA 23188.
