POQUOSON - Melvin Lee Holloway, 67, a native & lifelong resident of Poquoson, passed away Friday, October 4, 2013. He retired from NASA Langley as a Carpenter Supervisor after 30 years, and later worked at Bass Pro Shops in Hampton. He was a member of Poquoson Masonic Lodge #49; the Knights of Pythias Lodge Charity #10; and a life member of Poquoson Volunteer Fire Company. Melvin Lee was preceded in death by his parents, Margaret & Melvin Thomas Holloway, and brother, Jackie Wayne Holloway. He is survived by two sons, Thomas L. Holloway (Heather), and R. Scott Holloway (Christine); four grandchildren, Scottie Holloway Jr., Keira Holloway, Kaitlyn Worley, and Maggie Holloway; sister-in-law, Joyce Holloway; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Masonic Rites will be conducted Sunday, 6:00 PM, at Claytor Rollins Funeral Home, Poquoson, followed by visitation until 8:00 PM. A funeral service will be held Monday, 2:00 PM, at Trinity United Methodist Church, Poquoson, by Rev. Milford C. Rollins. At other times, the family will be at Scott's home, 293 Wythe Creek Rd., Poquoson. Burial will be private at a later date.
