NEWPORT NEWS - Robert 'Bob' C. Tallon, 83, passed away Friday, Nov. 23, 2012, in Riverside Regional Medical Center from multiple medical issues. He was a native of Charleston, S.C., and a Newport News resident for 40 years.|
Bob retired in 1993 from Small Business Administration as an Officer of Surety Bonds and Guarantees, in Washington, D.C. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and was a Coast Guard veteran.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father-in-law, Mabel and Chester Cammon; and stepdaughter, Cathy Key.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Peggy Sue Tallon; two daughters, Debbie Hansen and Cindy Rogers of Heber City, Utah; two sons, Mike Tallon and his wife, Lanica of Hampton, and John Tallon of Duschene, Utah; a stepson, Jeff Key of Atlanta, Ga.; a sister-in-law, Pam Ellis of Amarillo, Texas; and 19 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, at Peninsula Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 29, at First United Methodist Church officiated by the Rev. Robert L. Haley, with burial in Parklawn Memorial Park.
