VERO BEACH, FL - Victor L. Goulet, Sr., 91, passed away on Thursday, January 9, 2014. He was a native of Northampton, Massachusetts and a resident of Vero Beach, Florida for the last 3 years. Victor was a former resident of Hampton, where he lived for 38 years. A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, Mr. Goulet retired after 30 years of service as Chief Master Sergeant and a member of the "Charter Chiefs" (one of the top 1% of all enlisted personnel awarded the highest enlisted rank in the Air Force on December 1, 1959 by Congress). He was part of several conflicts and earned numerous decorations. He later retired from Civilian Service after 14 years. Victor was preceded in death by his parents, 8 brothers and 3 sisters. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Phyllis M. Goulet; sons, Victor L. Goulet, Jr, Donald P. Goulet and Kenneth P. Goulet; grandchildren, Michelle Neal, Nicole Bailey, Kimberly Berger and Kate Goulet; great-grandchildren, Chandler Neal, Brooke Neal, Ryan Berger and Rebecca Berger; several nieces and nephews, plus a lifetime of friends. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 9:30 am, Friday, January 24, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 512 Buckroe Ave., Hampton, VA 23666. Inurnment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park, Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice, 11835 Fishing Point Dr., #202, Newport News, VA 23606 or to Wounded Warrior Project, Region V, 1919 Commerce Dr., Suite 450, Hampton, VA 23666.
