WILLIAMSBURG - Virginia Collins Maynard left her earthly home Saturday, May 31, 2014, to be in her Heavenly Home with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was the last of eleven children of the late W.W. and Helena Collins of Hampton. She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Mapp Maynard. She was born and raised in Hampton and was a resident of Williamsburg. She retired from NASA after many years of service and was an ICM Volunteer Chaplain for Busch Gardens. She loved to sew and make clothes and quilts. She enjoyed playing golf with the Kingsmill Lady 9 Holers. She was an active member of New Town United Methodist Church in Williamsburg. Virginia requested no service and to remember her as she was. Her beautiful smile will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Memorial donations may be made to New Town United Methodist Church Building Fund, 5209 Monticello Avenue, Williamsburg, VA 23188. Cremation Society of Virginia is in charge of arrangements.
