HAMPTON - William Edward Taylor, 65, died Thursday, April 25, 2013. A native of Wilmington, NC, he had been a Hampton resident for the last 53 years. An Army veteran, he served his country during the Vietnam War. He worked for many years as a welder at the Newport News Shipyard and more recently was a painter for his family's business. An avid fisherman, he also enjoyed playing the guitar and had a beautiful voice. He loved both people and animals and will be missed by all who knew him. Preceded in death by his parents, Freda and Edward Taylor; survivors include his children, Mary Campbell, William Edward Taylor, II, and Thomas J.
