Fred Mandato, age 84, died on Friday, November 16, 2012 at Morristown Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. Fred was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. on December 1, 1927. He resided in Morris Township for 45 years. He was an executive at the Warner-Lambert Company in Morris Plains and retired in 1986 after 31 years of service. He was a graduate of St. Francis Xavier High School, St. John's University and received his MBA from New York University. Fred was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army in 1947. He was active in the Morristown Little League for over 10 years and served as president in addition to coaching many teams.
Fred is survived by his loving wife, Vivian. They would have celebrated their 60th Anniversary on November 29, 2012. He leaves behind his devoted children, Audrey and Robert (Maureen) Mandato. Papa was adored by his three grandchildren, Elizabeth, Jennifer and Christopher.
Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, November 28th, 2012 at St. Virgil's Church, in Morris Plains at 1:30 p.m. followed by entombment at Holy Rood Mausoleum, 61 Whippany Road, Morristown, N.J. Visiting will be on Tuesday, 11/27/12 from 2 until 4 and from 7 until 9 p.m. at Dangler Funeral Home, 600 Speedwell Ave., Morris Plains, N.J.
