Gertrude (Trudie) Andreorio
AGE: 90 • Morris Plains
Gertrude (Trudie) Andreorio departed for the gates of heaven on July 18, at the age of 90. She was born on February 21, 1924, to Joseph and Josephine Shotwell, and she and her sister Dorothy were raised by Josephine and her caring sister Mary Hanlon. Trudie lived her entire life in northern New Jersey, and in the same Morris Plains home for 60 years. She graduated from Morristown High School in 1942. Trudie and the love of her life, Louis Andreorio were married on September 1, 1946. She was a wonderful homemaker, wife and mother of two active sons, and devoted and a generous parishioner of Saint Virgil's Catholic Church for many decades.
She loved coordinating and preparing holiday events for her extended family. She had a genuine appreciation of education, and could be depended upon to correct one's English grammar on any and all occasions. She was an accomplished dancer and had an appreciation for cats and kittens, being controlled by a few of them over the years. Though saddled with a debilitating hip problem as well as surviving a bout with breast cancer, she loved her life and found great enjoyment throughout. She was an avid golf fan and got excited watching the weekend tournaments, especially the majors.
