Hans George "Jack" Tepp, 92, of Pompton Plains, NJ died Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013, at Cedar Crest Village following a short illness. Jack was born in Hamburg, Germany and immigrated to New York City in 1929. He graduated from New York University in 1942 with a degree in Chemical Engineering. Following World War II, where he served as a training sergeant, he married his beloved wife, Margaret H. Tepp (deceased 2009) and began working for Allied Chemical in Wilmington, DE. Jack spent his entire career at Allied Chemical, living in Baton Rouge, LA; Paducah, KY; Morris Plains, NJ; and Aiken, SC before retiring there in 1983. Jack was a lover of classical music, golf, crossword puzzles and reading.
He is survived by his daughters, Susan and Robert Curnow of Morris Plains, N.J., and Linda and Daniel Fuchs of Tallahassee, FL; his son, Richard Tepp and Matthew Curtin of Chicago, IL.; his grandchildren, Jeffrey, Brian and Benjamin; and his great-grandson, Dylan. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by his parents, Herman and Berta Tepp, and his brother, Walter.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his name can be made to Cedar Crest Benevolent Association, 1 Cedar Crest Village Drive, Pompton Plains, N.J. 07444. Arrangements were under the care of Burroughs, Kohr & Dangler Funeral Home, Madison.
