Janet A. Ostrom

AGE: 60 • Budd Lake

Janet A. Ostrom, 60, of Budd Lake, died August 1, 2013 at Morristown Memorial Hospital after a long battle with breast cancer. She was born in Athol, Massacusetts September 25, 1952 to Leo J. and Virginia M. (Mallet) Chaisson.

She graduated from Athol High School in 1970. She was married to Ray R. Ostrom July 11, 1975. Janet graduated from Centenary College with Masters degree in Counseling in 2005. Janet worked for County College of Morris for several years in both the President's office and later the counseling department. After obtaining her Master's, Janet worked as an Licensed Professional Counselor at a large local clinic, specializing in drug and alcohol addiction. Since then she had been an active volunteer in the community, working with her local American Red Cross and the Self Help Clearinghouse through St. Clare's Hospial. Janet enjoyed gardening, reading, traveling, and going to garage sales.

She was survived by her husband Ray; a son Tim; a daughter Sara; a sister Linda Bickford; a brother David Chaisson; and a sister Carol Theroux. At Janet's request, a memorial service is planned for a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to the .
