Linda Ann Baker

On June 16, 2014, Linda Ann Baker of Morristown lost her long and courageous battle with breast cancer. Linda will be remembered at a loving mother, grandmother, partner, daughter, sister, friend and teacher. She was a cherished woman devoted to her family and partner Gary Cooper of South Brunswick. As a youngster Linda was a model for the Harry Conover Modeling Agency in New York appearing in a number of national ads and on television. While in high school she served as a drum major for the American Weldery and Steel of Dover. She graduated from Morristown High School in 1965 and from 1988 worked as a teacher's assistant in the Morris School District retiring in January of 2014. She was also an instructor at the Harding Township Recreation summer program.
Linda is survived by her mother Muriel Trevena of Kenvil; sisters Gail Hiserodt of Morris Plains, and Janet Trevena of Kenvil; children Thomas W. Baker of Florida, Kenneth W. Baker and wife Kelli of Morristown, Karen Baker Territo and husband Edward of Succasunna; grandchildren Chase Baker, Charleigh and EJ Territo; step grandchildren Brandon and Austin Bowers, and Jessica DeVries; sister-in-law Nancy Perkalis; nieces/nephews John Muench, Wendy Kaufman, Elizabeth Hiserodt, Danielle Trevena, Cheryl McNeil, Jennifer DiGiacomo, and David Perkalis; and a number of grand nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father Kenneth Trevena and sister Judy Muench.
Linda was an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 401, South Brunswick; New Jersey Education Association; National Education Association; and was Team Captain of Hillcrest School Relay for Life Team.
Visitation will be on Saturday, June 21, 2014 from 12:00-3:00pm, with a memorial service at 3:00pm, at Dangler Funeral Home, 600 Speedwell Avenue, Morris Plains. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Linda can be made to: American Cancer Society.
