Timothy F.X. O'Connor, "Tim", 65, of Morristown, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 8, at his home. Tim was born on January 20, 1948 in Jersey City, where he grew up. Tim was a proud United States Army Veteran, serving during the Vietnam War. Tim retired from the Jersey City Police Department as a sergeant in the year 2000, after 29 years of faithful service. He had the gift of gab and could entertain you for hours with his stories. His family and friends find peace in knowing how deeply he loved, and how deeply he was loved and cherished by those who knew him.

He was predeceased by his father, Francis X. O'Connor and his sister, Elaine O'Connor. Tim is survived by his mother, Margaret D. (Lee) O'Connor, his wife, Meg, his loving children, Lee Claire and Jacob Murphy, his dear sisters, Mary Jane O'Connor, Frances Chludzinski and her husband William, Elizabeth M. Bird, along with his 12 cherished nieces and nephews and many extended family and friends. He will be sadly missed, and always in our hearts.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Tuesday, February 12, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM and Wednesday morning, February 13, 2013 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 3269 State Route 35 North, Hazlet, N J 07730. A prayer service will be offered on Wednesday morning, February 13, at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow at Holmdel Cemetery, Holmdel.
