Jane Wood passed away early Monday morning, April 28, 2014, to join her loved ones who have gone before her. Jane was born on Aug. 26, 1933, in Trawick, to Jake Owens and Hattie Matlock Owens. She raised three wonderful children, Enola, Lou and Max. She loved plants and gardening. Her greatest passions were family and local history. Jane is preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Charlene Seburn, Lela May Haltom and Bonnie Bell; and her brothers, Roger Owens, Orville Owens and Carl Owens. She is survived by her daughter, Enola Wood Curtis and her husband, Glenn, of Magnolia; sons, Lou Wood and his wife, Barbara Male, of Fairfax Station, Va. and Max Wood and his wife, Deborah Bush, of Nacogdoches; grandson, Sean Wood of Chicago, Ill.; and brothers, Laney Owens and his wife, Robbie, of Nacogdoches and Joe Owens of Nacogdoches. Friends and family are invited to a visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, May 2, 2014, at Laird Funeral Home. Online memories and condolences may be offered at lairdfh.net.
