Funeral services for Lola Louise Fisher, 43, of Orlando, Fla. will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 26, 2013, at Laird Funeral Home with Bro. Jeremiah Moss officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery. She passed away on June 21, 2013 in Houston. Lola was born on March 3, 1970 in Orlando, Fla. to the late Harold S. Fisher, Sr. and Lola Maxine Musgrove. Lola grew up in the southwest Houston area where she attended Alief Elsik High School. Lola participated in the Special Olympics and won the Alief Special Olympics Sportsmanship of the Year Award in 1990. Her favorite hobbies were basketball, t-ball and bowling. Lola spent her time playing Pac Man, doing her puzzle books, listening to music, playing with and enjoying her dogs, and spending special time with babies. She had a very strong Christian faith. Her special scripture was Matthew 19:14. Lola was involved in the ARC and daily workshops for the mentally challenged. Lola was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her sister, Jamie McLaggan and husband, Ian; brother, Harold S. Fisher Jr. and Mary McFarland; nephews, Harold S. Fisher III "Trey" and wife Stephanie, Ian "Scott" McLaggan and Heather Osbourne, Byron James McLaggan all of Houston; great-nephew, Parker Fisher; great-niece, Madeline McLaggan all of Houston; cousins, Sherry and Glenn Smith, Danny Smith, Rebecca Smith, Rusty Smith all of Nacogdoches, Joseph and Amy Sears, Kylie Sears, Joshua Sears of Mansfield, and Mary Sears of La Porte. She is preceded in death by her parents, Harold S. Fisher, Sr. and Lola Maxine Musgrove. Scott McLaggan, Byron McLaggan, Joseph Sears, Trey Fisher, Danny Smith and Glenn Smith will serve as pallbearers. Her special needs friends will serve as honorary pallbearers.
