OPELOUSAS - Nash, Earl James (Dean Nash) age 85 of Knoxville, TN passed away Saturday, January 19th, 2013. He was a Court Baliff with the Knox County Sherriff Department.
Earl previously was a Dean at Southern University and A&M College in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and at Knoxville College in Knoxville, TN. He was a veteran of the US Army and also a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity.
Earl Nash was preceded in death by his father, Ernest Nash; his mother, Rose Davis-Nash, wife, Norma Ballard Nash; his sisters, Evelyne Yates-Banner, Ernestine Monk and brother Lloyd Nash.
He leaves to celebrate in his homegoing; his loving daughters, Theaolecia Nash Broussard of Opleousas, LA., Verettia Nash Navarre and Miraquita Nash of Knoxville, TN; sister Charlsie Nash of Columbus OH; three grandchildren, Keenan Broussard, Daisha Navarre-Stigall and Jonathan Navarre; sisters-in-law Jetta (Andrew) Harris of Washington, DC, Melba Kempt of New Orleans, LA, Genevive Simms of Opelousas, LA; Signora Moore of Houston, TX; brother-in-law Albert (Barbara) Ballard Jr. of Lawrence, KS; many loving nieces and nephews; the Mt. Olive Baptist Church Family; Eternal Life Harvest Center family; The Knox County Sheriff Department; Albert Baah, Edgar Orrick, Jimmy Hunter and a host of other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 9:30 A.M. until 11:00 A.M., funeral service at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, January 26, 2013 at Little Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 128 North Academy Street, Opelousas, LA 70570. Reverend Calvin Moore officiating. Interment will be in Bellevue Memorial Park.
