LAFAYETTE - Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 3, 2014, at a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial in St. Leo the Great Catholic Church for Mr. Lee I. Billeaudeaux, age 83, who died Friday evening, January 31, 2014, at his residence in Lafayette.
Entombment will be in the Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum.
The Very Rev. Monsignor Robie Robichaux, JCL, Pastor, will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the services. Lectors will be Sue Arnaud and Shanna Simon. Giftbearers will be Gavin Simon and Danny Bearb. Jessica Graham, soloist, accompanied on the organ by Karen Broussard, will sing for the services, "Amazing Grace", "Psalm 23", "Ave Maria", "Be Not Afraid", and "Battle Hymn of the Republic".
Survivors include two daughters, Cynthia Marie Martin and her husband, Pat, and Mandy Benoit and her husband, Jerome; one son, Derek Simon and his wife, Shanna; eleven grandchildren, Crystal Marie Camille, Beth Carol Martin, Richard Lee Camille, Pat Martin, Jr., Gavin Simon, Gunner Simon, Josh Bearb, Paige Bearb, Kenny Bearb, Danny Bearb, and Bailey Benoit; fifteen great grandchildren, Richard Lee Camille, Jr., Julian Camille, Margarita Camille, Toby Camille, Nico Camille, Cheyenne Camille, Colin Brackney, Leslie Brackney, Lenore Martin, Donovan Martin, Vincent Martin, Ashley Camille, Brandon Reaux, Daylon Bearb and Saige Chiasson; and three great great grandchildren, Jamiya Kelegon, Jaeley Camille and Ryzlan Kelegon; and one brother, Gilbert Billeaudeaux.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth LeBlanc Billeaudeaux, on October 21, 2012, his parents, Renus Billeaudeaux and the former Evena Ardoin. one sister, Vernice Billeaudeaux Johnson and two brothers, Gladney Billeaudeaux and Jodney Billeaudeaux.
Mr. Billeaudeaux was a native of Chataigner and a resident of Lafayette for most of his life. He retired from Montgomery Ward as a manager with 33 years of employment.
Mr. Billeaudeaux was a veteran of military service serving in the United States Marine Corps.
A Rosary will be prayed by Bernice Black on Sunday at 4:00 PM. followed by a Eulogy by Shanna Simon.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Martin & Castille's DOWNTOWN location from 11:00 AM until 9:00 PM Sunday and will continue on Monday from 8:00 AM until time of services.
Pallbearers will be Derek Simon, Jerome Benoit, Josh Bearb, Brandon Reaux, Greg Hollier, Troy LeBlanc, Ernie Arnaud and Billy Jo LeBlanc.
Honorary pallbearers will be Glen Hollier, Mike Smith, Danny Bearb, Kenny Bearb and Gavin Simon.
The family would like to express their appreciation to Bernice Black and Hospice of Acadiana for the wonderful care extended to Mr. Billeaudeaux.
