Meier, Barbara E. 74, has gone to be with the lord. She had quietly and privately dealt with breast cancer for several months, but the aggressive disease had attacked her liver. She was relieved from her suffering on February 25. Barbara was born in Dallas June 16, 1938 to Dr. Eugene Brooks and Lela Mae Lane Brooks. She graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School, TCU, and earned her Master's Degree from SMU. She married her high school love of her life, Frank Meier, and celebrated 54 years of marriage, was blessed with three daughters and seven grandchildren. As an English teacher, she taught at W. T. White and Roosevelt. Since 1983, she has been teaching English and Journalism at the Episcopal School of Dallas where she touched the lives of many students and won many national awards for the Eagle Edition school newspaper. She enjoyed hosting family affairs, cooking, playing tennis, and gardening. She is survived by her husband, daughters Michelle Holmes and husband David, Andrea Meier, Melanie Penwarden and husband, Heath, seven grandchildren, one brother and two sisters. Memorial Service is scheduled for 10:30 AM Saturday, March 9, 2013 at the Anglican Church of the Holy Communion at 17405 Muirfield Drive, Dallas, TX 75287. Memorials may be made to the Church of the Holy Communion Building Fund.
