Baskett Elmer Obituary
Baskett Jr., Elmer A. Elmer A. Baskett, Jr., of Irving, passed away February 4, 2013. He was born in Sweetwater, TX on April 25, 1925. He was a Marine during World War II, a member of South MacArthur Church of Christ, attended the University of Texas for two years, worked at Union Carbide for over 40 years and for South MacArthur Church of Christ for fifteen years. Elmer was preceded in death by his wife Jo Baskett; and his grandson Gerald Wayne Burns; and is survived by his daughter Sharon Burns and husband Johnny of Whitney; and granddaughter Stacie Hatfield and husband Noel of Bedford. A funeral service is planned for Thursday, February 7, 2013 at 10:00 AM at South MacArthur Church of Christ, with Tim Lewis officiating. Burial will follow at 2:00 PM at Memory Gardens of the Valley in Weatherford. A visitation is planned for Wednesday, February 6, 2013 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
