Ortega, Carmen Age 36, born on July 16, 1976, went to Heaven to be with the Lord on Friday, March 15, 2013. Carmen was a beloved mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. Carmen, "Tati", was the best big sister who enjoyed taking care of her younger sisters. Carmen bravely fought a long battle with cervical cancer and faithfully looked to the Lord to guide her. She was a very generous and kind soul who thought of others before herself. Her greatest accomplishment and joy was being a great and loving mother to her son. She graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington and followed her childhood dream to proudly work for the Dallas Police Department for 11 years. She is survived by her son, Mark Hernandez, parents, Anastacio and Maria Ortega; three sisters, Claudia Natividad, Christina Ortega, and Cristal Ortega; nephews, Angel Vargas and Ismael Jacob Ortega. The family will receive friends, Sunday, March 17, 2013, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM, with a Rosary to begin at 7:00 PM, Calvary Hill Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be held, 12:00 Noon, Monday, St. Cecilia Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Calvary Hill Cemetery.
