Granger, David P. age 61 and a resident of Rockwall, TX, for 26 years, passed away September 29, 2013. He was born January 2, 1952, in Burlington, VT, to Leonard and Mary (LeBlond) Granger. Dr. Granger graduated from the University of Vermont College of Medicine. He was board certified in Pediatrics, having completed his Pediatrics Residency at West Virginia University Medical Center in Morgantown, WV. After serving five years in the Medical Corps of the U.S. Navy as a commander, Dr. Granger moved to the Dallas area. He established his practice in the Rowlett/Rockwall area in May, 1987. He has been an active member of the medical staff of Lake Pointe Medical Center, having served as Chief of Staff and Chairman of the Board of Trustees. Dr. Granger was also a member of the AAP, the AMA and Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Rockwall. Dr. Granger's interests included golf, travel, and weekends at Cedar Creek Lake. Dr. Granger is survived by his loving wife: Patricia Granger of Rockwall, TX; mother: Mary Granger of Rockwall, TX; sons: Matthew Granger and wife Leah of Rockwall, TX, Timothy Granger of Dallas, TX, and Adam Granger and wife Stephanie of Dallas, TX; daughter: Stacey Granger of Rockwall, TX; grandchildren: David, Sean and Bailey Granger, all of Rockwall, TX; brothers: Steve Granger and wife Susan and Doug Granger and wife Fran, all of North Kingston, RI; brothers-in-law: Bob Ellis and wife Jen, Chuck Ellis and wife Kathy and Bill Ellis and wife Marsha; and sister-in-law: Laurie Fay and husband Jim. He was preceded in death by his father: Leonard Granger. Services will be held 11:00am, Friday, October 4, 2013, at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 1305 Damascus Lane, Rockwall, TX, with Rev. George Monaghan officiating. A Night of Remembrance will be held Thursday evening at Rest Haven Funeral Home, Rockwall, TX, from 6:00 to 8:00pm.
