Cable, Edwin Davis (Ned) 1925 - 2013 Devoted husband, father and grandfather, Ned went home to be with the Lord September 28, 2013. He was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma May 4, 1925, and his parents, Ruth Cottrill and Jo Harnley Cable, soon moved with older sister, Carol C. Love, to Wichita Falls, Texas. Ned enlisted in the Navy in 1943 and served as an Ensign. He graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in Petroleum Engineering and was a member of Sigma Gamma Epsilon. He came to Dallas in 1949 and worked for 22 years at the Republic National Bank as an Evaluation Engineer and Bank Officer. He later started his own firm. Colleagues noted what a help he was in their careers. Upon retirement, Ned read his math and physics books with relish. He enjoyed snow skiing well into his 70's. In Dallas, he met his wife of 57 years, Hazel Ruth McKinney, who survives him as well as his children Caron Ruth Lapinski and Davis J. Cable and their spouses Daniel and Cheryl and grandchildren Allison Ruth Cable and Travis A. Cable and his wife Michelle. He liked to teach and tell a good story. He passed on a love of God, golf, skiing, travel, bridge, and math. His mischievous, generous and encouraging spirit will be remembered. Burial was in Wichita Falls, Texas. The family thanks all of Ned's caregivers, especially the help of Faith Presbyterian Hospice.
