Ret. Major Hiram W. Johnson, USAF Passed away April 17, 2013. He was born November 30, 1919 in Kansas City, Kansas. He served in WWII as a pilot in the China, Burma, India theater of operations. He received a Bachelors degree from the University of Michigan and continued service in the Air Force OSI until his retirement in 1963. He began his second career as a civilian Investigator for the Department of Defense and retired again from the Federal Aviation Administration. He is preceded in death by his son, Richard W. Johnson, USAF retired, and daughter, Janet Johnson Pierce. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Marvel Taylor Johnson; two sons and a daughter, David and wife Gloria; Steven and wife Suzanne; and Patricia and T.J. Marks of Houston, Texas. In addition he is survived by eight grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He will be greatly missed. A memorial service for the family was held on April 20 at Autumn Leaves retirement home. Inurnment will be at 10:00 AM on May 1, 2013 in Restland Memeorial Park.
