Thal, Jeffrey L. Jeffrey L. Thal was born December 13, 1961, in Columbus, Ohio to Erwin and Carolyn Gordon Thal. On January 11, 2014, Jeff passed away suddenly, in Dallas, Texas, at the age of 52. Jeff was a graduate of Richardson High School, attended the University of Texas, and graduated from the University of Houston. Throughout his career Jeff worked as a senior accountant in healthcare administration for UT Southwestern, Baylor Research Institute and Texas Health Resources. He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Carolyn Thal in 1995. Jeff is survived by his loving wife Kathy Duran-Thal, son Gordon Thal, step-children Camille, Stephen, and Alex Duran, father Erwin Thal, brother Jim Thal and his wife Rhonda and their children J.R. and A.J., and sister Barbie Potts and her husband Steve and their children Will and Carolyn. Jeff will always be remembered for his kindness, compassion for all people, fearlessness, playful and incredible sense of humor, devotion to family and friends and his gentle soul. He had the unique gift for sharing his warmth with anyone and everyone. A true warrior, Jeff never took any day for granted and never complained. His passion for Ohio State football was contagious his knowledge of every Buckeye-football statistic unrivaled. The world has lost a bright light, may he rest in peace, and GO BUCKS. Memorial services will be celebrated Wednesday, January 15th, at 10 am at Sparkman-Hillcrest Funeral Home.
