Richardson, Joanne Rodes Joanne Rodes Richardson of Richardson Texas, born in Lexington, Kentucky on January 21, 1929, passed away October 24, 2013. Joanne grew up in Lexington, KY where she attended the University of Kentucky. Joanne spent the first part of her adult life raising her children and the last half of her life teaching needlework and as a partner in a Needlepoint and Stationary store. After a successful career, she retired, but continued to teach needlepoint and counted cross stitch. Joanne loved to travel, whether it was to faraway lands or her family in various parts of the country. Joanne was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration, Dallas Needlework and Textile Guild and East Texas EGA. She continued to stitch until the very end, however, her greatest pride and joy was her family. She is survived by daughters- Dianne Wilterding & husband Hershell William and Lucy Stewart; sons- Captain Bruce Stewart, USN (RET) and Dean Richardson; grandsons-Chris, Blake, Danny, Drew, Connor, and Joey; and granddaughter Katie. Memorial Services will be held October 28, 2013 @ 1:00 PM at Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration, 14115 Hillcrest Road (NW corner of Spring Valley and Hillcrest Roads).
