Dorsey, John Wesley 93, was born on 7/17/20 in Houston and peacefully went to Heaven on 1/7/14. He leaves behind the people that he loved so well, wife of 65 years, Gladys Downey Dorsey; daughters, Katherine, Carolyn Walters and husband, Jay; grandchildren, Laura, Cody & his wife, Jennifer; great-granddaughter, Allison, & many nieces and nephews. In high school, John played varsity football, basketball, tennis, and track. His senior year, he was co-captain of the football team, all-city and all-district football, and Most Popular Boy. He was offered several football scholarships. At the University of Texas, he was a member of the Silver Spurs and Vice President of Kappa Sigma. He graduated in 1938 with a BSME. He served in WWII as a Captain in the Army Air Corps. He moved to Dallas in 1964 as VP and Partner of Haag Engineering where he is honored with the engineering library named after him. He and Gladys were members of Lover's Lane Methodist Church for over 50 years. Visitation is Fri 1/10 from 6-8 pm. Services are Sat 1/11 at 12:30 in the Wildwood Chapel. UT attire optional.
