Sturdivant, Kenith R. 1930 - 2013 A memorial service celebrating the life of Kenith R. Sturdivant, 83, of Marietta, GA, will be held Sunday, Nov. 3rd at 2:30PM at the East Cobb Church of Christ on Marietta Highway. Ken passed peacefully after an extended struggle with Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease. Ken was born in rural Upshur County, near Gilmer, Texas, on July 17, 1930, the only child of Mildred and Nathan Sturdivant. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Wilma, two daughters and sons-in-laws, Candace and Bobby Donaldson of Tysons Corner, VA, and Camille and Ed Scent of Roswell, GA, and two grandsons, Bailey and Julian Scent, also of Roswell. Ken's life touched many people. He took great joy in helping others whenever he could and especially enjoyed extolling the virtues of and encouraging young people to pursue an education. He attended Texas A&M University on the GI bill and graduated with honors with a degree in electrical engineering in 1958. He worked for E-Systems, LTV Corp., the missile systems division of Rockwell International, Hughes Aircraft and the Department of Defense. Ken felt proud of his contributions to his country. He ended his career working for the Defense Logistics Agency overseeing the F-22 program. Ken often said he could trace all of his success to one event: marrying his high school sweetheart, Wilma; she was the love of his life. In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations in Ken's name to The Texas A&M Association of Former Students; collected contributions go toward helping students afford the college education Ken so cherished. Donations may be sent to The Association of Former Students, Texas A & M University, 505 George Bush Drive, College Station, TX 77840, or made online at www.AggieNetwork.com; note in the comment section that the gift is in memory of Kenith Sturdivant. Condolences may be left to the family on www.roswellfuneralhome.com
