Jones, Lucille A Harris "Miss Lucy" Born in Clear Lake, Wisconsin on March 7, 1925 and went to be with the Lord on April 16 2013. She was the daughter of Phoebe and Charles Nordahl. graduated from Clear Lake High School, Clear Lake Wisconsin. She received her radiology degree and became the head of the Radiology Department at Logan Chiropractic College. She met her first husband Dr. Walter E. Harris while working on her Chiropractic Assistant Certificate and they soon moved to Dallas where she worked alongside of her husband until his death 1986. During this time: Lucy became the President of Women's Auxiliary to the Texas State Chiropractor Association from 1969 - 1970. She worked beside Governor Preston Smith in establishing a program to promote better health named "try walking". In 1971 she worked with then, Mayor Erik Jonsson to call attention to the importance of Correct Posture. Also in 1971 she became the State Director for the Women's Auxiliary to the Chiropractic Association. She became Woman of The Year For District 5 in 1972. In 1989 she started attending the First United Methodist Church, Quinlan, TX. In 1991 she started attending the Eastern Star Quinlan Chapter In 1993 she became Worthy Matron of the Quinlan Chapter #170 OES In 2003 Eastern Star honored Lucille with her 50yr pin In 2006 she became the Deputy Grand Matron of District 1 Section 3 OES for the Eastern Star. During her lifetime Lucy has promoted many successful projects in order to provide scholarships to chiropractic students. She was an active member of the PTA, YMCA, YWCA, and Young Life. As an active member of Phi Sigma Alpha sorority, she served as President for two years. She has been a Bible School Teacher, Circle President and Secretary of Christian Women's Fellowship. During her later years one of her most passionate programs was one she pioneered at First United Methodist Church, Quinlan, Texas "The Prayer Quilt Ministry" As you can see Lucy dedicated her life to serving and caring for all. What an inspiration!!! Lucy is survived by her husband of 19 years Charles Jones, her daughter Barbara Hanevik, her husband Jason, son Dr Terry Harris DC, wife Virginia, daughter Pam Dennehy, husband David, son Chuck Jones, wife Susan and son Larry Jones, wife Debbie. She is preceded in death by her oldest son Dave Harris. Lucy has been blessed with many grandchildren and many great grandchildren. In the end she said" don't grieve for me for now I am free" My life has been full-good friends and good times" Lucy is loved by many and will be missed so much. We ask that you keep Charles in your prayers, as he is precious to all of us. A memorial service will be on April 26, at 11:00 AM At First United Methodist Church 1555 E. Quinlan Parkway, PO Box 2590, Quinlan TX 75474 In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Church for the Prayer Quilt Ministry.
